I did a short stint in HR at some point during my younger years, and one thing I learned is that before you can fire someone, you need to have the proper documentation. Dates, times and the logging of specific details will help show a pattern of behavior, should the need arise to ‘let someone go’.
So I decided that this blog will become my ‘documentation’.
Why?
Because when the day arrives where I’m old & grey & senile, and my kids are overwhelmed & tired & annoyed with me, they can read back on this blog and remember who I was, at this moment in time. They’ll see who I was as a person, and not just as their crazy old Korean Mom. So it’ll become MY proof that they can’t fire me.
Besides … all those adoptions are legally binding.
So they’re stuck with me. Forever.
